How to Make a Stainless and Wood Tiered Organizer

Thrift store stainless bowls and wood candle stick pieces come together to make a perfect two tier organizer.

I love the thrill of a hunt and always have my eye out for inexpensive items to update or use in future projects.  It's not uncommon for me to dig through thrift store shelves or scour Hobby Lobby looking for random hardware, wood pieces, and other unique items to update or have on hand for when an idea strikes.

On one of my latest Goodwill trips two stainless bowls struck an idea and I knew they would make the perfect tiered tray paired with candle stick pieces I had bought a few months prior.

- Two thrifted stainless bowls/trays
- 1 pack cap assortments (I used 3 of the larger caps)
- 1 pack candlestick pieces (I used 2 pieces)
- Wood knob or larger round bead (my wood knob is from Hobby Lobby)
- Foam brush

I chose to make a small tiered organizer since I already had unfinished wood candle sticks on hand and the thrifted bowls I found were small.  If you're looking to make a larger organizer you could use old cookie or vintage baking tins and larger wood candle sticks.  The possibilities are endless.

I like mixing wood tones with metal, so I opted to stain my wood pieces with special walnut wood stain.

Since my organizer was going to be small, I used glue to join the wood pieces together and to attach them to the stainless bowls.

I started with glueing the small wood beads to the bottom of the larger bowl then glued the two larger wood candle sticks together and 3 of the large caps.

I attached the wood candle sticks to the larger bowl and the large caps to the smaller bowl.  When everything was dry I glued the two pieces together.
