Goodwill Mid Century Modern Dresser Makeover
Happy Monday! Did you all have a good weekend? I'm fighting a nasty head cold, but I did manage to wrap up my Mid Century Modern dresser makeover and work on a 2x4 project for an upcoming challenge/round up. I picked up this beauty from our local Goodwill for $15.00. It was tucked away in the corner with it's drawers wrapped with painters tape. As I walked over I secretly hoped it was 1. affordable and 2. smoke free. I got a little giddy when I noticed the $15.00 price tag, but it still had to pass the smoke test. You bet I removed the tape, opened the drawers and took a big whiff. It was not only free from smoke, but the drawers were clean and in great condition. To say I was excited about this MCM dresser and the possibilities of a great makeover would an understatement. ...

10 Easy and Inexpensive Ways to Love Your Home
It took me a VERY long time to love our home. We didn't have time to do any updates before moving in, which meant we had to live with all the original 1970's fixtures and finishes. We took our time making improvements and worked room by room as time and money permitted. I've mentioned before that this was never supposed to be our forever home. I always dreamed of moving into a larger home with more space and property. Although, now that I am older (and I like to believe wiser) I know it is in our best financial interest to stay in our current home and live comfortably. That doesn't mean I don't wish I could make a few changes, updating and expanding our kitchen is on the top of the list. Do I get overwhelmed at all the work that goes into owning a home? Yes. Do I wish I had a bottomless budget when it comes to decorating? Yes. Do I love my home even though there's more work to be done? Of course. Try not to stress about making your home perfect...

This month's theme was "metallic paint" and I decided to use my favorite metallic gold spray paint to make a couple wood photo plaques for my recently updated gallery wall . They ended up being a great addition and I love that I can easily swap out the kids pictures or artwork. ...

You Asked, I'm Answering {Metal Label Holders and Pulls}
Hey, hey...happy Monday! This weekend really didn't go as planned, but when does it ever? We started having septic issues on Friday night, which has now turned into an excavator digging up our backyard as we speak. Yeah, not exactly how I wanted to spend our hard earned money. The good news? At least we will finally be able to flush our toilet and take a shower in our own home. The bad news? I think our basement is going to take a little longer to complete now that we have this unexpected expense. It just goes to show that life doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and be prepared for the unexpected. Enough talk, let's get down to more important matters. I love hearing from my reader's and since it seems you all have similar questions, I thought it would be helpful to answer a few in upcoming posts. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR LABEL HOLDERS AND PULLS? ...

Happy Friday! Who's got exciting plans for the weekend? I'll be clearing out and organizing our basement in preparation for operation carpet tear out. In the next few weeks we hope to FINALLY start ripping out the basement carpet and start laying new floor. We have a few plumbing issues to resolve first (you know, so I don't flood the basement again) then it's time to start gettin' busy. Let's wrap up this week of office storage with 20 of the most stylish and organized office and studio spaces you'll ever find. Wooden 4 Drawer Storage Box
In an effort to keep up with my plan to organize my office, I'm sharing another inexpensive, yet stylish organizing project. This post contains affiliate links. If you have ever walked the aisles of Michael's you know they have an entire section of unfinished wood projects. Storage boxes, plaques, jewelry boxes, numbers, letters, you name it, they have it. I mean really, have you ever walked in and out of Michaels empty handed? It's just as bad as going to Target thinking you'll walk out with only the handful of essential items you went in for. Yeah, that never happens. ...
