Thrift store ornaments get an aged vintage makeover! While on one of my many thrifting adventures , I found a large amount of Christmas ornaments in the bagged section of Goodwill. They're something I wouldn't have given a second thought, however, when I moved the bags I realized the ornaments were heavy, solid, and only $1 a bag. I immediately knew they would be perfect for an aged makeover, so I grabbed a few bags to bring home. SUPPLIES NEEDED TO AGE ORNAMENTS - Thrift store ornaments (look for solid ornaments made of metal or clay) - 400 grit sandpaper - Black chalk paint - Rich Espresso metallic paint ( Rub 'n Buff or other metallic gold paint would work too) - Paintbrush - Paper towels The color combination of the ornaments I found was not my style but more importantly, they were solid, made of clay, and had great texture. Resource: How to Thrift: The Best Thrifting Tips and Tricks I knew paint would adhere well to the ornaments because of the clay-li...

Christmas Decorated Entry Four Ways
An entry table decorated four ways using vintage decor and thrift store finds! I finally dragged most of the Christmas boxes out of the shed and started decorating for Christmas. Setting up and trimming the Noblis Fir dining room tree was easy. Deciding how I wanted to decorate the entry table was more of a challenge. I like rotating my holiday decor to create different displays, but it's difficult when I love a previous year's look. I played around with a few of my favorite Christmas decorations to create different holiday displays to see which one I liked best. I combined the holiday decor I already had with a few new vintage and antique finds. I pulled together four different Christmas displays, two neutral and two red. CHRISTMAS ENTRY LOOK NO 1. I gravitate towards neutrals, so I used a collection of vintage suitcases, antique snowshoes, winter greenery , and a pair of vintage hard plastic fawns. Aren't the fawns adorable? I found them last week at my favo...

Thrift Store Makeover: DIY Vintage Santa Planter
Learn how to create your own vintage-inspired Santa planter using thrift store finds! I love hunting for neutral vintage Christmas decor, and last weekend, I bought the most adorable large vintage Santa planter from a fellow Lily & Birch Market vendor. When I saw the planter, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my vintage Christmas collection. It had the most adorable jolly face, perfectly imperfect crazing, and original maker stickers and markings. I couldn't wait to bring it home and place one of my houseplants inside. Seeing the vintage Santa planter on my entry table immediately gave me an idea. Over the past several weeks, I saw the same clear vintage Santa cookie jar at my local Goodwill. It was missing a lid, so I never gave it a second thought.....until now. I quickly headed back to Goodwill to see if the jar was still there and it was! I immediately came home and turned it into a neutral vintage Santa planter. This thrift store makeover is so effo...
