The best part of being a vintage reseller is getting first dibs on all the cool one-of-a-kind vintage decor I find.
The worst part is knowing I can't keep it all and having to be a big girl and let some of the amazing pieces go.
Over the years, I've thrifted, bought, and sold thousands of amazing vintage finds, keeping only a select few that were too unique to sell.
Today, I'm sharing some of my favorite recent thrifted and vintage finds that made it to the "keep" pile.
HOW DO I DECIDE WHAT TO KEEP AND WHAT TO SELL
Whether I thrift an item or score an incredible deal at an antique mall, I usually know right away if it's something I'm going to sell or keep. If I'm hesitant and indecisive (which happens often!), I ask myself a few basic questions.
- How rare is the item? Have I ever come across the item before, and if so, how often? If it's something I've never seen before or very rarely find, then I almost always decide it's a keeper.
- Did I get a good deal or is it something I splurged on? If I'm indecisive and there's no real financial gain, then I usually decide to keep the item and enjoy it for a while.
- Will I regret selling the item? I've sold many pieces that I wish I hadn't, so I usually have a good sense of how I'll feel when an item sells. If I know I'll feel regret, I hold off on selling.
- Does the item hold value? Is it an appreciating asset? I'll keep vintage finds I know have value (vintage oil paintings, Holt Howard vintage Christmas decor, unique and rare solid brass pieces, etc.) or have the potential to be worth more in the future.
If I really can't decide, I always enjoy a piece in my own home a while before making a final decision. A major perk of running a successful vintage booth is being able to borrow and constantly rotate my personal home decor.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE HARDEST VINTAGE FINDS TO SELL
By far the hardest vintage finds for me to sell are antique hymn boards, large unique brass items, vintage double-sided signs, vintage Santa mugs, unique metal flower frogs, and black-face vintage alarm clocks.

I bought it from a dealer at the Lucketts Spring Market in May. It's one of those pieces that as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to bring it home.
Have you ever seen these large vintage tulip candleholders before? I haven't!
I spotted them on Tuesday at one of my favorite thrift stores. I was originally going to add them to my Lucketts Fall Market stash, but they're one of those unique, rare brass items that I knew I would regret selling.
I added the antique sign and pair of brass tulip candleholders to my entry table along with a few other thrifted and vintage finds.
The combination of dark warm wood tones, black and gold decor, crisp white walls, and lush green plants never fails. It's immediately what I'm drawn to and my go-to way to decorate every time!
