Recycled Glass Jars Turned Stylish Office Storage

Happy Sunday! I'm slowly organizing my office in an effort to get it completed before we start tackling the basement. The hardest part is finding a place for my hoard of craft and Goodwill finds, all while spending as little as possible and working with what I have.  That means I've had to get a bit creative and use what's cheap and free. Thank goodness I happened to have a few glass jars ready for the recycling bin.  With just a few simple updates they turned into the perfect office storage. ...

Five Friday Finds- Neutral and Affordable Area Rugs

Hello Friday, it's so nice to see you! We have plans for a basement makeover in the upcoming months (thanks to me flooding the basement and a very naughty kitty), so I've been spending a lot of time looking at flooring, paint colors, rugs, furniture and decor items.  I'll be sharing a full blown basement mood board soon, but for now I'm sharing a few rugs that I stumbled upon while doing a little research. Finding the perfect rug can be tricky.  With so many different colors, textures, patterns, sizes and materials to choose from it's no wonder it can be a challenge.  I encourage you to take your time, figure out what you love and what works best in your space.  Keep in mind that a rug should be large enough that at least the front third of furniture sits on the rug.  Don't skimp and get a rug that's too small, it will make your room look awkward and unfinished.   On the other hand, the perfect rug can finish and complete a space.  ...

The Best Items to Buy at The Dollar Store for Decorators

Have you ever wondered what items you should buy at Dollar Tree? I've gathered my favorite Dollar Tree deals that will help you save money on crafting and decorating! Do you shop at dollar stores?  You probably know by now that I frequent dollar stores often .  I love to transform, hack and update basic Dollar Tree items into stylish home decor and organizing solutions.  I've been shopping there for years, but it definitely took me a bit to get over the stigma that Dollar Tree and other dollar stores are just full of cheap junk.  Don't get me wrong, there are certain things I probably would never buy at a dollar store, but they also sell a ton of must buy items that are perfect for decorators and crafters. You may have to do a little updating and tweaking, but nothing beats making a craft or updating your home with something that came from a dollar store. ...

DIY Personalized Valentine's Puzzle

Happy Monday!  Anyone else get dumped on by Mother Nature over the weekend?  We were "lucky" enough to get 30+ inches of snow starting Friday evening into late Saturday night.  It really put a damper on my building and furniture striping plans, but it sure was nice to have an excuse to sit around and do nothing.  I did manage to complete a little craft project, but most of my time was spent finishing up Sons of Anarchy! In other news... Danielle from  Creatively Homespun  invited myself and 19 other talented bloggers to join her in a Valentine Blog Hop.  Each of us created a fun Valentine project to share, so make sure to check out everyone's projects at the end. ...

Memories

"Make memories because no one can take them away~" Cyndi Neumann Affiliate links have been used How about we start off the week with a quick and easy "project?"   I'm using the term project very loosely since all I did was spray paint a  metal bookplate , stick it on a pre-made, distressed box and make a quick label.  It took just a few minutes, but is worth sharing anyway. On one of my many trips to Michael's (I'm lucky enough to work about 2 miles from one!) I came across these perfectly distressed little wood boxes .   I had just been given a bunch of old family photos of my grandparent's and I knew the box would be perfect for displaying a few of those precious photos.   ...

Updated Hall Gallery Wall

Happy, happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I did a lot of laying around in my painting clothes, a little painting, a little stripping (furniture of course) and a lot of Netflix binge watching (hello, Making a Murderer!)  I am a big fan of Forensic Files, so of course I quickly got hooked on this popular Netflix series.  Anyone else watching?  I highly suggest you start if you're into this sort of thing. I had plans of sharing my updated hall gallery wall later this month, but I just couldn't hold out any longer.  I'm just too excited and in love with this space to wait another day. Over the past year or so, I've noticed that my style has changed.  I've slowly started transitioning my decor and home to reflect more of what I love, contrast.   It all started with our entryway and I've been hooked ever since.  Adding the plank wall and painting the interior of our front door Ion Ore started a decorating snowball. ......

Five Friday Finds - Metal Wall and Storage Organizers

Happy Friday!  This was my first full week back to work (Okay, so I have off on Wednesdays's, but who's counting?) since the holidays.  Only having to work 2 days a week for 2 weeks was pretty darn nice and something I could definitely get used to. Being that it's the beginning of a new year I decided to start a new series, Five Friday Finds.  I'll be sharing anything from home decor finds to amazing room makeovers and DIY projects.  Pretty much anything that catches my eye!  I probably won't be posting every week, but be on the lookout for this new series on Friday. One thing I am always drawn to is neat storage organizers, especially metal ones.  It doesn't matter if it hangs on the wall, sits on the floor or has drawers.  If it's metal and has the ability to organize all my miscellaneous crap, then I'm all over it.   ...
