Simple and Neutral Fall Home Tour {2017}

A simple and neutral home decorated for fall!

It's fall home tour day!  Sit back, grab a cup of hot cider and get comfy, this is gonna be a long one! If you're stopping by from My Creative Days, welcome!  I'm thrilled to have you and hope you enjoy the tour.

I slacked last year and didn't share a fall home tour (what kind of blogger am I?), so this year I'm extra excited to be teaming up with over 30 fabulous bloggers and Kirkland's (who is generously sponsoring this post) to share my simple and neutral fall home.

I hope you enjoy the tour, but more importantly, I hope it inspires you to create a beautiful fall home you love.

I kept things simple and neutral this year, adding in just a few pops of color with fall leaves.  I tried to bring in more traditional fall colors, but when you have dated orange 70's hardwood floors it ends up being a bit of a clash fest.  So, I nixed the orange pumpkins (I saved those for the mudroom) and opted to bring in more white, creams and fall greenery. Sometimes it's better to work with what you have instead of fighting against it.

I love using baskets and trays to display decor and this wooden beaded handled tray was just what our entry table needed.  I filled it with a few old books, one of my favorite glass vases and a small ceramic pumpkin.  My DIY gather sign added an extra touch of fall to complete the space.

You may also notice that I finally hung my new bamboo shades!  I still have to add curtains, but I'm loving the contrast of the natural bamboo against my painted windows.

I added a small galvanized tin tray to the coffee table (that I brought up from downstairs) to display a few more fall items.

In order to keep the flow, I decorated the dining room with the same neutral palate.

I'm loving the addition of this rustic wood and metal pedestal tray.  It's great for adding height and displaying a few of my favorite neutral pumpkins.  This year, I fell in love with the larger fabric pumpkins and had to add a few to my stash.  Anyone else loving these pumpkins?

I swapped out my wood tobacco basket (which is now displayed on my entry table) for this large metal one.  I'm loving the contrast it adds compared to traditional tobacco baskets.

An old prune box got stuffed with more neutral pumpkins, acorns and fall greenery for an easy centerpiece.

And what doesn't say fall like apple cider and pumpkin scones?

Don't they look yummy?  Let's just say they didn't last long.

Last but not least, my mudroom got updated for fall with a few pops of traditional fall colors.

A magnolia wreath (perfect for all year long!) got a touch of fall with a DIY "FALL" garland.   The addition of a new plaid pillow and a little pumpkin artwork on my DIY message board finished off the space.

Phew, that was a lot.  I hope you enjoyed my simple and neutral fall tour and I hope it inspired you to bring a little fall into your own home.
