How to Get the Farmhouse Look with Dollar Tree Items

Easy ideas for transforming basic Dollar Tree items into beautiful farmhouse decor!

Yes, you read that right!  You CAN create beautiful farmhouse decor with inexpensive Dollar Tree items.  From storage baskets and bins to stylish and seasonal decor,  it's easy to transform ordinary Dollar Tree items into gorgeous farmhouse decor.

How to get the farmhouse look with Dollar Tree items
Sometimes it's hard to see past the bright colors and cheap plastic of many Dollar Tree items, but if you keep an open mind (and squint real hard) you can see the potential.

In no particular order, here are my favorite Dollar Tree items and makeovers to get the perfect farmhouse look.

BURNER COVERS
How many times have you walked right past the metal burner covers???  You might think twice about passing them up once you see how I turned one into a stylish captain mirror.

Dollar Tree has a wide variety of wire baskets perfect for organizing, but have you thought about spray painting them and adding one to a chalkboard?

Adding oil rubbed bronze spray paint and metal labels instantly ups the style factor of these basic Dollar Tree basics.

STORAGE DRAWERS
Out of all my Dollar Tree makeovers, turning mini storage drawers into industrial farmhouse storage is by far my favorite!  Transforming these little plastic drawers is a bit more involved, but the after is definitely worth the extra time and effort.

JUTE CORD
Jute is great for so many things, but if you're looking for an easy farmhouse craft try making a Wood Bead Tassel Garland.

SUCCULENTS
I've used Dollar Tree succulents in many projects throughout the years, but these succulent stems that I picked up a few months ago are my favorite.   They look so real and you would never know by looking at them that they are fake, no less came from Dollar Tree.

You may be surprised that almost everything I used to make these succulent pots came straight from Dollar Tree.  I used paint I had on hand, but the stones I used to fill the pots and even the ribbon is from Dollar Tree.

FLOWERS
There are a lot of bright colored faux floral picks at Dollar Tree, but if you weed through them you can find a few that are perfect for adding a bit of farmhouse style to your home.

ALPHABET BLOCKS
Alphabet blocks are great for learning, but I had something a bit different in mind when I spotted a set at Dollar Tree.   I added a few layers of paint, created an alphabet printable and gave them a farmhouse makeover.

HOLIDAY DECOR
From plastic Easter eggs to carrot jump ropes, holiday decor from the Dollar Tree is so easy to paint and update into farmhouse decor.

SEASONAL
Seasonal decor is a great way to inexpensively update your home for the changing seasons.   Dollar Tree tends to have a lot of plastic or shiny metal pots and planters, but with a little spray paint or aging, you can turn them into gorgeous farmhouse decor.

TOWELS
With minimal effort and sewing skills, you can easily turn plain white Dollar Tree towels into an affordable farmhouse inspired bathroom accessory.
