Hey, hey....Happy Monday! I'm still on a high from Friday night's Luke Bryan concert and moving a bit slow this Monday. I think I'm getting too old to be staying up until 3:30 am, but it was totally worth the late night fun. Luke put on an amazing show and I'm so glad I got to enjoy all his hip shaking with one of my very best friends. It sure was a night I won't forget!
I took advantage of my day off work by taking a trip to a local vintage market before the concert. I wasn't planning on buying anything (at least that's what I tell myself anyway), but I ended up walking out with a new necklace, small boxwood wreath and a gorgeous new chest. Before I get to what I bought, here's a peak at what caught my eye.
I LOVE the pulls on this large buffet. If I didn't already have a vintage server (purchased from this same vintage market) I would have snatched this one up!
This piece has been there for months and every time I go I stop and check it out.
Look at those cool green drawers on the inside!
I'm also attracted to any storage unit with drawers, so of course I loved this little wood storage box.
They also sell costume jewelry and I couldn't pass up this gorgeous necklace. I must have a thing for mint green jewelry.
How gorgeous are those amazing pulls?
I barely looked at the price tag ($249) before tearing it off to claim my "prize."
I'm usually not one to spend a lot of money on furniture, but I believe splurging on a few nice pieces (solid wood!) is worth the investment.
There was nothing wrong with our previous Target bookcase, but it wasn't the best piece of furniture and I was ready for a change. Although I loved decorating the shelves, it left little room for storage. If you live in a small house you know how important it is to maximize every square foot of space for storage and organizing.
There's nothing wrong with buying furniture at big box stores, but it definitely pays to keep your eye out for unique pieces.
I have previously commented on how much I love your front door. This chest is perfect. I love the look of the drawers and the pulls are gorgeous. Six drawers would be so useful in the entryway.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy your blog! Thank you for your effort and time.
That new set of drawers is sheer perfection. Good for you for getting it home and all set up!!

Delete"If you live in a small house you know how important it is to maximize every square foot of space" - YES! I love to style shelves, but the function of drawers or cabinets typically "wins" in my book :) Beautiful piece of furniture!
ReplyDeleteKatie, could you tell me the height of your new chest? I have a very similar space in my living room that I'd like to put a piece of furniture in, but am unsure of what height to look for. I love the way you've styled the new piece, and am hopeful to do something similar for my space! Thank you!
