{Entryway Update} HomeGoods Knob Love And a $5.00 Clearance Rug

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a great weekend and all you mommies had a great Mother's Day full of pampering and relaxation.  Although yesterday was a special day, today is even more special.  My youngest is graduating from preschool and suddenly I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes. Where has the time gone?  How did he grow up so fast?  I'm a little sad that my baby is growing up faster than I would like, but I'm extremely proud of him and look forward to this next chapter in his life.   {sniff, sniff}

If you follow me on Facebook you may have noticed that I stopped in HomeGoods the other day.  I'm fortunate to work within 5 minutes of a HomeGoods, which tends to be a lunch time staple.  Who needs to eat when they have shopping to do, right?

I went in search of a new tablecloth for our outside table and stumbled upon these amazing knobs.  Have you seen them?

HomeGoods Knobs

They have such a great selection of unique and colorful knobs and their prices are totally reasonable.  Too bad I have no place for those emerald and gold ones, aren't they gorgeous!

They also had these fabulous brass tags that I couldn't resist.

Although I didn't buy any knobs, the tags as well as a few other items may have jumped off the shelf and into my arms.  Ahh, I hate when that happens!

HomeGoods Finds

You'll find out on Wednesday how I used the green herringbone wrapping paper, but until then here's an entryway update with my new rug.

Sometimes all it takes is a few fresh flowers and a $5.00 clearance rug to bring life back into a space.
I've been in search of a new rug for our front door and was thrilled to stumble upon this fabulous black and white one in the clearance aisle for a mere $5.00.  It's exactly what I was looking for and love how it completely changes the look of the entryway.

This space has been through a lot over the last few months and I am thrilled to finally call it D.O.N.E done.

If you wanna play catch up, here's the previous posts from the entryway makeover...

  4. A HomeGoods five minutes from our work?! That could be dangerous, but oh do fun! I really love that rug and your entryway! That ampersand is so pretty, too! I always see pretty knobs and never buy them, because I have nowhere for them.

  5. We don't have a Homegoods where I live :o( We do have Marshall's and TJMaxx and I think all three stores are owned by the same company so maybe I'll check one of the other ones and see if they have those knobs! I love your entry update, it looks great!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my green microwave cart redo!

  6. My youngest just graduated from preschool today too (well, today's the 20th, and you posted a few days ago, but still, I feel your emotion). Don't you just love Home Goods? I'm kinda glad I don't have one 5 minutes away or we'd go broke. I might, however, have to search out those brass tags. I love them!!! I know all Home Goods have different items, but I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

  8. What a gorgeous entryway! Mine is so cramped with no room for all the cool things you have set up! Also totally know about how things just mysteriously end up in your cart at HomeGoods... I just don't know how it happens ;)

  11. Just lookin through pinterest for some black interior doors and came across you blog. Do you have other doors in your house painted black as well? Just curious, I was glad to see that leaving the white trim looks okay....Hmm,,,really thinking of biting the bullet and painting some doors!!

    1. I'm so glad you stopped by, Dawna! I do have other doors painted dark gray (SW Iron Ore), but they are all entryway doors. I kept all my interiors doors white, for now at least :) If you are on the fence, I say just bit the bullet and paint them dark. You can't go wrong!

  13. Wow, your front door is gorgeous! I've been cruising around Pinterest for a few hours now trying to find entryways that jumped out at me and this is my favorite one so far. Are there any aspects to it that you could think of that you would have done differently if you did it again?
