A Modern Classic Christmas Fireplace Mantel

This is the first winter decorating our freshly painted fireplace and I couldn't wait to deck it out for Christmas!  The rest of the basement may not be complete (who needs baseboards anyway), but thanks to The Home Depot I now have a fireplace that's complete and fully decorated for Christmas.

I shared yesterday that I was chosen to participate in the Holiday Style Challenge and was given the "challenge" to decorate my mantel for Christmas.  I used some of the items Home Depot sent and also purchased a Christmas countdown and who could resist a cherry stained car hauling a Christmas tree?

Along with all the pretty decor items I also built two craftsman style boxes for the 4ft potted trees to sit in.

I'm sharing the full tutorial for how I built the boxes over on the Home Depot blog.  You won't believe how easy they are to make!

If you need me I'll be lounging on the couch enjoying this beautiful view.  Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday friends!

  3. I absolutely love your decor. Did you make the red and white wreath in your entryway?
I have admired your entryway since you first posted your completed project. I have purchased a similar door and I am having it installed and painted a dark navy blue.
I enjoy all your posts. I know your blog is dependent on sponsors and ads. I will continue to follow you! I wanted to know if others are having the same problem as I am having.
I spend more and more time removing ads that cover your photos and blog. I often miss the "little x" and get sent to the advertisement website. I only have my phone for Internet.
    I would appreciate your response.
