Create a bold and beautiful home with stylish green home decor accents!  Happy Friday! I love creating bold spaces in my home, so Iron Ore will always be my favorite go-to paint color.  When paired with white, Iron Ore creates a beautiful and modern contrast that I love.  Throw in a few bold green accents and I'm one happy girl.  ...

How to Build a Simple Modern Trash Can Screen

Tired of having your trash cans in plain sight?  Try this simple and modern solution for hiding your trash can (and other ugly outdoor necessities)!  We had our two-car garage built over seven years ago, which means for seven years the corner and side of our garage have been a little bit of an eyesore.   No plants, no mulch, no landscaping......nothing.  The corner of the garage is not only where we keep our trash can (it gets too smelly to keep in the garage), but it quickly became a dumping ground for random buckets, leftover wood, old dirt bike tires, hoses and random trash. I desperately needed a solution to hide the trash can and clean up the exterior corner of the garage.  This past weekend, I FINALLY bit the bullet and built a simple and modern trash can screen. ...

Summer Bedroom Refresh: How to Update Your Bedroom For Summer

Budget-friendly ideas to spruce up your bedroom for summer!  This post is sponsored by Walmart The days are longer, the sun is hotter and it's the perfect time to lighten your bedroom decor.  I don't typically change much of my decor for summer, but I do like to make a few budget-friendly changes to lighten and brighten my home, especially when it comes to my bedroom.    Heavier blankets, pillows and bedding get put away and are replaced with lighter fabrics for a brighter feel.  This year, thanks to  Walmart Home  and their  summer bedroom decor , I was able to update my bedding and pillows to create the perfect summery vibe.  With free shipping on orders over $35 and free returns, it was super convenient to shop from home, risk-free. ...

Let's Go Thrifting: Auction and Thrift Store Finds Vol 2

Creating a beautiful and unique home with vintage finds from auctions, thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace! It's officially SUMMER! School has ended, working two days a week out of the house is ending and this mama is looking forward to finally having more time to blog and hit up more auctions. Picking and thrifting are definitely two of my favorite things to do.  I love the thrill of the hunt, exploring and discovering new places, finding unique pieces for my home and meeting and learning from people along the way.   Almost all of my favorite pieces in my home are one-of-a-kind finds found at auctions or vintage shops.  They're old, unique, a little crusty and perfect for making my house feel more like home.   ...

$200 Backyard Update: Budget-Friendly Tips to Update Your Home's Exterior

Budget-friendly backyard update and inexpensive tips to help spruce up the outside of your house for less!  This backyard project was WAY overdue! FIVE years overdue.  We included a back door when we built the garage, which led to absolutely nothing once the garage was complete and the yard was graded. I finally got fed up with the unusable entrance, rotting trim and moldy door that I set out to give the back entrance a budget-friendly makeover.  I joked on Instagram that this exterior update wasn't about perfection.  It was about updating the backyard as cheap as possible, so it was no longer an eyesore for my wonderful neighbors.  ...

Low-Maintenance House Plants: Switching From Faux to Real Plants

Transitioning from faux to real plants.  The best beginner house plants and easy tips to help them thrive! I'm trying a thing.  Not sure how successful I'll be, but I'm willing to try and learn. I'm sloooowly transitioning from faux to real house plants.   Are you surprised?  I am. I was never one to have a green thumb and be able to keep real plants alive.  I would always start with good intentions, but end up accidentally robbing them of water and sunlight.   Over the past few years, I've learned a little, became somewhat more responsible and somehow managed to keep a few low-maintenance plants alive and healthy.    I think I've turned a corner and now I'm obsessed with filling my home with more low-maintenance plants!...

The Best Neutral Knobby and Textured Home Decor

Stylish and beautiful!  The best knobby decor to add style and texture to your home!   Do you love color or do you prefer to keep your home decor neutral?  I tend to gravitate towards black (ahem, Iron Ore) and white and prefer to keep my home decor neutral, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring.  Mixing vintage and modern decor  and adding contrast and texture are my favorite ways to add style and dimension to my otherwise neutral home. ...
