One Room Challenge Week 4: Board and Batten Molding, Paint and Lighting

Here we are in the trenches of the One Room Challenge and I feel like I have very little completed in the bathroom.  So far, I've managed to paint the walls, finish the "board and batten" wall treatment outside the bathroom and install the gorgeous new light fixture.  I've been putting off the tile, but I hope to get that finished by the weekend.

I was looking for a light neural gray for the walls and Sherwin-Williams On the Rocks won.  The bathroom is a bit dark and the tile makes it read a little blue, but I love it!

If you read last week's update than you know I decided against adding any type of wall treatment in the bathroom.  I already planned to add board and batten to the outside bathroom walls as well as down the stairway and I knew it would be too much to do both.
Adding board and batten

Painting board and batten
The board and batten adds just enough interest to the space and it's a nice welcome into the bathroom.

Speaking of inside the bathroom, we also hung the brass sconce light from Schoolhouse Electric

After the light was hung I realized the mirror I bought is going to be too big for the space.  I had my heart set on a pharmacy mirror, but I think I'm going to have to look for a smaller, metal frame mirror instead.  On the bright side, look what I found at TJ Max for $6.00!!

The tile MUST go in this week then it's time to reinstall the trim, sink and toilet and get this space finished!

Are you playing catch up?

  10. Coming along nicely, what type of ceiling is in the hallway?

  11. It also comes from the cost of the replacement bulbs, the labor it involves to change them, and the proper disposal of the hazardous waste. outdoor/security lighting
