In the middle of working on our basement I've also been trying to finish my office. As a reminder, this space is actually our kitchen addition that we added about 2 years ago. Since it will be a bit until we tackle and expand the kitchen I decided to take over the space and turn it into the perfect workspace.
I previously stenciled the back wall, but just last week got the itch to paint over the stencil and I'm so glad I did. Although I loved the idea of a stenciled wall it just didn't fit my style and I was craving a change. It's the first wall you see when you walk in our mudroom and I wanted it to fit the rest of our home.
Is it even a surprise that I picked Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore as the accent color? I love the drama it added to the hallway and couldn't wait to add the same color to my office. You know how I love contrast and this color definetely gives a heavy dose of it.
It perfectly compliments the painted mudroom doors that are just across the office.
I added a gallery of my collection of "A's" and number "4's" and also picked up a new office chair while I was at HomeGoods. Those of you that are super observant may also notice that the mudroom rug has also been moved to my office.
If you are wondering, I did not sand the wall before painting. I was hoping a subtle hint of the stencil would show through the paint and it did. If you look closely you can see the gorgeous stencil.
