DIY Thrifted Pirate Costume

I'll be taking a break from blogging this week, but I have some super talented friends who have graciously offered to take over my blog for the week.  They all share a love for DIY and creating thrifty projects for their home.  You may even notice some of these sweet girls from our monthly DIY challenges.  I hope you'll take a minute to check out their blogs and don't forget to say hi!

Can you believe fall is already here?  I’m loving this cooler weather but I’m not quite ready for Halloween yet! However, scouting out costumes in advance may help the budget. I thought I would share how we completely thrifted my oldest little man’s costume last year! I'm obsessed with thrift stores and found each of these pieces there and cut them up! This could NOT have been any easier!

Here's the breakdown:

  • Girl leggings (don't tell Kuy, okay?): $2.25
  • T-shirt: 5o cents
  •, it's a ponytail holder I cut...
  • Headband: Bottom of an old t-shirt
  • Blue vest: 50 cent t-shirt that we cut a vest out of
  • Boots: a gift

Any other thrifted costumes out there? Not bad for $5!
