Updated $8.00 Gallery Wall

Yesterday, I mentioned that I was heading in a new direction regarding my daughter's room makeover.  I just wasn't happy with the way my original plan was going and decided to switch things up a bit.  I am happy to say, that I LOVE how things are starting to come together.

One of the changes I made was to her $8.00 gallery wall.  Last time you saw her room it looked something like this...
The entire gallery wall was constructed using $8.00 Goodwill frames, which were painted and updated with gold leaf Rub 'n Buff.
The frames were filled using fabric, a free printable (found here) and my daughter's artwork.  I liked how they looked at first, but as I was putting her room together they just looked off.  So, I gave them a little update, swapped out a few prints and love the way they turned out.

Oh, and surprise, the blue wall is no longer blue!

All the coral frames were painted navy blue (they look black in the picture, but I promise they are blue) and the artwork was switched up a bit.  I added a silhouette picture of my daughter as well as this "You are so Loved" print.  I've already ordered a few fabric samples for curtains and I'm desperatly hoping one of them will work out.  I can't wait to get those black and white damask curtains down and replaced with something bright and fun.

  1. Oh I feel your pain...I hate when I am going in one direction with a room and it just seems "off" and not what I was going for. The gallery wall does look more cohesive now, though I did like it before too! What a fun room for your daughter!

  2. That all looks beautiful-great colours. I love the "you are loved" quote too-It's all perfect!

If you have a minute to spare I'd be thrilled if you could share this at my weekly Say G'Day linky party. It's on now and this would be a fabulous addition!

    Best wishes,

  3. Such a sweet little collage! And I'm loving that bright coral wall! :)
