My Brain is Mush, but at least I have a Project Gallery!

You guys, I am SO excited that I finally conquered the coding involved in getting a Project Gallery up on the blog.  A huge thank you goes out to Emily and Erin from Elizabeth Joan Designs and Abby from Just a Girl and her Blog for giving me the push that I needed to follow through with a Project Gallery page.   Emily and Erin just recently finished a projects page on their own blog and Abby just launched her amazing eBook Building a Framework: Everything I learned my first year of blogging that is full of extremely helpful information for new bloggers.

Fellow bloggers will be able to relate to me when I say, creating a projects page is no easy task.   If I'm being honest, it was a major thorn in my side.  It looks all pretty on the outside, but the inside is full of coding that will make your head spin.  For the last week my evenings have been spent copying codes, resizing pictures and adding links to create a Project Gallery page.   Something I've wanted to do for months, but had yet to find a clear cut tutorial until I came across this amazing step by step guide at Craftivity Designs.   Even though Erica and Lora have very clear directions, I still managed to mess up the coding.  I started over no less than 4 times after nearly completing the ENTIRE page.  A few curse words were said and a few beers were drank as I pulled myself together to start from scratch.  It wasn't until I was working on the last draft that I finally got smart and started backing up the page after each time I inserted a new picture or link.   I will be adding to the page as I complete new projects and hopefully I won't mess it up along the way.

To keep up on all my latest projects and to follow along as we add a garage, mudroom and expand our kitchen you can subscribe through e-mail or follow along on social media.

  1. Thank you for the shout out Katie! We love seeing all of your projects!

  2. Great job on the coding! I have been wanting to do this too but it sounds so daunting. Good idea to back the page up after each change!
