Wooden wedding date sign

I'm stopping by real quick to show you a simple DIY project that was inspired by Liz over at Love Grows Wild.  I've seen this anniversary sign many times before, but she gave me the push to actually follow through with making one.   My husband and kids are the most important people in my life, so why not showcase the very important date of when my husband and I got married.

I grabbed a small piece of scrap wood, gave it a quick coat of jacobean stain, sanded the edges then stenciled our wedding date, June 11th 2005.   I joked with my husband and told him that I was making the sign so he wouldn't forget our anniversary.  I was only half kidding :)

For the back, I nailed in a picture hanger to easily hang the sign.
I was originally going to hang the sign in my bedroom, but then realized it would look great above the gallery wall at the end of our hallway.
