A customized wine gift

Not only is it Friday, but were celebrating my bosses birthday as well as mine at work today.  That means lots of cake, and we all know I love cake.   This year, I volunteered to put together his gift just like I did for Christmas.  He loves wine so it was a no brainer that I was going to incorporate wine in his gift.
There's a story behind those labels I made using Picmonkey.

He's currently in the middle of a whole house renovation and has been irritated and complaining about all the dust.  I thought it would be fun to have a bottle of wine for when the house is finished and clean and the "dust settles."  The other label is work related as we are always asking if it's a full moon.  You know those days, hence the name "Full moon kind of day"
I cut the labels and glued them on the bottle with Mod Podge, leaving the back open so they could tell the wine in each bottle.
The number tags were made out of scrap wood that I had laying around.  I cut them to size, sanded them lightly, painted them gold, drilled a hole and stenciled the numbers of the age he was turning.  (Sorry, Tim!)
I love that they are personalized and more thoughtful than just giving a bottle from off the shelf.

We also gave him a few gift cards that I stuck in white envelopes.  I punched a hole in the top center of each one then strung them through the jute behind the number tags.

Have a great weekend friends!  I'll be spending some time with my family for my birthday and after sharing my messy house tour yesterday, I guess I'll also be cleaning and doing laundry.

  1. cute! this would totally be a good gift, and how fitting for the reno!

  2. Love these! Great stories for the labels!

  3. Love these! I bought the wine labels online, but I like your version better and you can adjust sizing. I was going to do this for Christmas! laura
