* Reader's digest book (I find mine at thrift shops)
* Scrapbook paper
I started by cutting off the front and back cover with an exacto knife. When you cut off the cover you will be left with a rough edge, so I then recovered the binding.
I wanted to add some color, so I attached another piece of scrapbook paper to the inside of the front and back covers.
Then I measured and punched three holes using a nail punch and hammer. (I got smart on the second book and used a drill and eyelets.)
After you measure and punch your holes in the front cover, place the front cover on top the back cover and mark your holes. This way you will be sure to have everything lined up.
This is when I decided to add pockets. I cut a piece of scrapbook paper, folded the bottom and sides then glued it to the inside covers.
I take this one with me each week when I go to the grocery store. I write down my list and put my coupons for that week in the front pocket. I used to put my list on an envelope and put the coupons inside. Now I have a fun little notebook to take with me to keep everything organized.
The second book I added the eyelets and used the drill. It was SO much easier!
Super cute! I'll have to keep an eye out for those at garage sales. It seems really easy too!

DeleteThese are sooo cute! I love the Readers Digest books too and now I have another reason for buying them! I really like how you used the 3 ring because the pages stay in so much better. I am pinning to remember this great idea!
