Inexpensive Silhouette Art...

I am always looking for cheap thrifty ways to make art.  I love displaying pictures of my family in the home, but wanted to do something a little different.  This project is inexpensive and fun!

First, take a profile picture of your kids.

Second, print the picture out in black and white as an 8x10. Once I had my picture printed I scanned then enlarged it as much as I could.  Then tape your picture to a piece of black construction paper and cut out the picture.

You are then left with a cut out silhouette.

I wasn't satisfied with just the picture in the frame.  So.....I added green burlap!  I cut out two strips and laid them on the back of the picture.

I was then left with this...

I did a silhouette picture for each of my kids and hung them in the living room.

I had the frames, burlap and construction paper.  So, this project costs me absolutely nothing!
