DIY Kids Storage Tags...

I love using labels, especially for the kids.  I came across labels at Better Homes and Gardens (click on BHG) and knew I wanted to do something with them.  The kids toy baskets were a perfect place.

The site has a bunch of different labels to choose from.  You'll have to sign in and then download the labels.  Once the page is downloaded you can make whatever labels you want.

My labels say: Trains, Trucks, Dolls and Paper

Once I cut out the labels I taped them onto scrapbook paper.  (the tape is used to temporarily keep the labels in place)

Next, cut the label to the size you want your tag to be.

Cut out a thin piece of cardboard the same size as the tag

Glue the green label to the scrapbook paper

Glue to the cardboard

Once dry, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the front and back

Punch a hole in the top using a hole punch and then add jute

Now you have tags!

These are the baskets before:

 And After:

This also makes clean up so much easier now that we know exactly where everything goes.

  1. I like them! I've seen those BHG labels before and they are nice but they are SO MUCH cuter with your scrapbook paper. Great idea! I also like how you used the cardboard on the back to make them more solid.
