Designed For Fall Home Tour 2015

Designed For Fall Home Tour - Little House of Four
Happy Fall!  Today, I've teamed up with seven other talented bloggers to give you eight beautifully decorated homes full of endless fall inspiration.  If you're stopping by for the first time welcome, you can check out my full home tour here.
Before I get to the tour, I first have to warn you that my home is well lived in and not perfect.  I work full time outside of the home and have 2 young kids, which makes it nearly impossible to keep my rooms neat and tidy.   I would have loved to decorate our living room and display perfectly staged fall arrangements on my ottoman, but that just isn't gonna happen.  More often than not it's taken over by random toys, homework and laundry.   Instead, I'm mainly sharing how I decorate the two areas of my home that actually stay neat, my dining room and entryway.

Although I didn't do much decorating in the living room, I did make a few very minor changes.  The yellow forsythia stems from spring got replaced with green stems and yellow books got swapped out for blue ones.  The minor tweaks were just enough to change the mood in the space.  Notice I didn't move the bean bag chair from it's normal spot.  It's a stable in our living room and the kids normally use it as a landing pad. #keepingitreal

The rest of the living room hasn't changed from when I shared the meaningful living room update and tea towel pillows.

The entryway bookcase is another place that I didn't go overboard.  The addition of a few white pumpkins and gold antlers was just what the space needed.

My West Elm Inspired HomeGoods table was updated with an easy book page garland, pallet pumpkins and some cute acorns.

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time then you probably already know that I love decorating with glass vases.  They are the perfect way to display sprigs of flowers or cotton without making the room feel heavy.

We eat a casual dinner every night at our dining room table (no fine china or perfectly decorated table settings here) and this metal basket provides the perfect place to add a few fall touches without cluttering up our dining space.

Last but not least, our recently completed mudroom was spruced up with a few pinecones and a ceramic pumpkin.

  3. Hi! I came over from "Just Call Me Homegirl" on the tour. I just wanted to say that you've given me inspiration for decorating. I've always felt too overwhelmed to decorate everything, so I didn't decorate anything. But since you said you design a few small areas that stay neat, I'm thinking I could probably do at least one spot. Who knows, maybe it'll grow from there. Thanks!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by Sue! I too get overwhelmed when I try to decorate my entire house. I usually only focus on a few key rooms and it's just enough to put me in the mood for the season or upcoming holiday. I'm so glad I've inspired you to at least decorate a few areas of your home :)

    1. I'm so glad I could inspire you! I would love to decorate more, but the truth is I don't have the time or motivation and even if I did the kids would destroy it in a day :)
