Happy Friday! Are you still recovering from all the New Year's Eve fun? We went to a neighborhood party (yay, for not driving) and I just barely managed to stay up until midnight. I blame it on the wine :)
I've been pretty lazy this past week, but I did mange to squeeze in a few fun organizing projects to start off the new year. I always have high hopes of getting and staying organized then end up failing miserably. At least I start out strong, that should count for something, right?
My daughter likes her motorized toys, but at heart she's really a girly girl. She loves getting her nails painted, wearing dresses, putting on make-up (around the house only!) and wearing jewelry. She's always getting new earrings and necklaces for her birthday or Christmas and now that she's getting older her jewelry is getting nicer. I desperately needed a place to hang her "big girl" necklaces as her jewelry boxes just weren't cutting it anymore.
The inspiration for this project happened by accident and evolved over time. It all started with a few wooden arrows that I built a few months ago. They've been laying around the house, just begging to be hung. So, I painted them fun colors and planned on hanging them in my daughters room.
Then......I found this beauty on clearance!
painted mason jars , the frame could be used in so many ways and the strips of hooks were just an added bonus. A bonus that turned into the perfect jewelry holder.
Thankfully, the metal plates were easy to remove and I was able to screw one into the wood arrow in about 2 minutes. I just used a very small drill bit to drill pilot holes into the wood then fastened the metal plate using 3 tiny screws.
After I installed the hooks I hung the arrows with command strips.
Let's just hope her jewelry stays this organized!
