DIY Snowflake Ornament {Handmade Ornament Blog Hop}

Happy Sunday!  It's usually pretty quiet around the blog on Sundays, but today I've teamed up with some amazing bloggers to share 30+ handmade ornament ideas.   I have to admit, I still have a few Halloween decorations up (gasp!) and haven't wrapped my head around the fact that Christmas is just around the corner.  Don't let this post fool you that I've already started decorating for Christmas :)  I don't forget about Thanksgiving and won't be decorating until AFTER Thanksgiving.

With that being said, I'm still excited to share with you an easy Christmas ornament!
I started with some pre cut wood circles, metal snowflakes, sparkly white scrapbook paper and white craft paint.
I  painted the front and back of each wood slice then cut a piece of scrapbook paper, which I glued to the front.
I then attached the metal star with glue and drilled a hole in the top of the wood to attach wire for hanging.

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out the other 30+ unique ornament ideas!

  1. Pretty ornament! I'm getting so many ideas from this hop!

  2. Love the idea of adding pretty paper to the front. I feel like I struggled to come up with an idea and I've found so many great ideas at this blog hop! Very pretty! XO

  3. This is really pretty I love the sparkle!

  4. OH this is what I've been looking for. I love your very pretty simple ornament. How big are the wood circles you used? Did you corrugate the paper yourself or buy it that way?
    We're going to be in a craft show on 12/13 so I have lots to do to get ready. We have everyday crafts but need some holiday items and thought some ornaments that aren't too labor intensive or need expensive or too many supplies would be good to make enuf in that amount of time. I've devoted this weekend to finding ideas for items to make. Your ornament is really pretty and looks so great on a tree. Sure glad I clicked on your post. Surfing these ornament blog hops has been wonderful for finding lots of great ideas, now to decide which ones. Now to get busy. Enjoy crafting in this happy holiday season, I sure am thanks to your item and others.

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm also preparing for a craft show (this Friday) and know how crazy it can be. I think these cute little snowflake ornaments would be perfect for the craft show! The wood slices are about 2 inches and I bought them individually at Michaels. The paper was already corrugated, but was kind of expensive. Have a great time at your fair and enjoy your time crafting!

  5. This is so cute! You did a lovely job.

  6. So, so cute, Katie! Love the sparkle. You should totally sell these at your craft show!

  7. Thanks for linking up to Pin Worthy Wednesday, I have pinned your post to the Pin Worthy Wednesday Pinterest Board. Loving that paper you used , it is pretty and simple , my favourite type of craft.
