Take two on the silhouette tray and jewelry box

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I was switching gears in Paige's room and decided to steer away from the original colors of black, white, coral and mint to navy, coral and mustard.  That meant the yard sale jewelry box that I previously painted mint had to be repainted as well as the free silhouette tray.

As a reminder, here's what they looked like previously.

And here's what they look like now...

Both pieces got a few coats of navy paint and I actually prefer them MUCH better this way.

This room has definitely been one of those rooms that decorating has not been easy.  One of the hardest obstacles to work around is her dark espresso furniture that I bought when she was a baby.  We spent a lot of money on good furniture that she could grow into.  Looking back, I probably would have went with white furniture to brighten up the room.   The other challenge is having someone else's opinion to take into consideration.  I am usually on my own and able to pick whatever fabrics, accessories and colors I want.  This time, I had a six year old's opinion that mattered.  She ended up not likely the blue wall, so it had to be repainted.  She didn't like the mint, so I had to switch gears and pick different colors that she agreed on.  I think finally, we are on the same page and things are moving along nicely.

    1. Thanks Kim! Thankfully, my daughter loves the makeover of the jewelry box, but if she didn't, I would gladly use it in my room :) Thanks so much for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!

  3. Is there anyway to get a jewelry box like the first one? My friend has one and she didn't make it, she bought it like that.

    1. Hmm, I've never seen them before, but you could always buy one and paint it like I did. Good Luck!
