Both pieces got a few coats of navy paint and I actually prefer them MUCH better this way.
This room has definitely been one of those rooms that decorating has not been easy. One of the hardest obstacles to work around is her dark espresso furniture that I bought when she was a baby. We spent a lot of money on good furniture that she could grow into. Looking back, I probably would have went with white furniture to brighten up the room. The other challenge is having someone else's opinion to take into consideration. I am usually on my own and able to pick whatever fabrics, accessories and colors I want. This time, I had a six year old's opinion that mattered. She ended up not likely the blue wall, so it had to be repainted. She didn't like the mint, so I had to switch gears and pick different colors that she agreed on. I think finally, we are on the same page and things are moving along nicely.
