Organized Art Space for Kids

The other day while sorting through our mess of an office, I spotted the extra wood shelf that I built a few months ago.  I had made four shelves, but only ended up using 3 of them in Paige's room.  Not knowing what to do with the fourth one, I just threw it in the office.   It sat there for a few months, until I saw it and instantly got an idea to install the shelf just above the kids art table.

I've mentioned before that my daughter LOVES to draw and color.  I've always had a little space for her be creative, but now i've taken it a step further.

I realized that if her supplies aren't out and easily accessible she doesn't use them as often.  The shelf was an easy way to resolve that issue and keep her art supplies out in the open and still organized.

I also picked up some wood letters to spell "CREATE" and covered them in fun scrapbook paper.

The metal curtain wire was purchased at IKEA and was already hung from when I created this little space about a year ago.  Kids love to have their art displayed and the wire has been a great way to hang and display their art.  It's so easy to switch out my kids masterpieces and has been nice to have a place to hang wet paintings that need to dry.

The kids absolutely love using this table and I love that it keeps the mess (for the most part) in one area.

    1. You should definitely make an art area! It only takes a small space, but it's so nice to have most of the art supplies contained. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I love this little space! That shelf is the ideal design for holding art supplies. It's great that everything is visible and easy for them to see and reach, but the overall is aesthetic is still pretty clean and uncluttered.

    1. Thanks Lindsay! I actually bought it a few years ago online at Target. Even with being white, it's held up very well.
