{DIY} Painted Wood Road...

The other month while I was working on the plank wall in the basement cubby, my son was using a  scrap piece of wood as a road.  He leaned the wood against a chair to make a ramp and was driving his trucks up and down.  It instantly gave me an idea to make something fun for him.  When I was done my project we got out some paint and we went to work on something fun for him.

I first painted the board with leftover paint that I used on our front door.  Once it was dry, I taped off lines using frog tape.  These are the times that I'm thankful to have a craft closet full of extra supplies.
I was feeling brave and let him paint without protecting the carpet.  Thankfully, we didn't have any accidents.

This was one of those cheap, spur of the moment projects that put a huge smile on my son's face.  It goes to show that kids don't need expensive toys to have fun.  A little creativity goes a long way!

    1. Thanks so much Alicia for taking the time to stop by and comment! I used leftover planking boards that I purchased at Home Depot for another house project. You can buy them in pre-measured lengths or cut your own. Hope that helps!
