Tissue paper flowers and burlap garland

The other day I shared some tissue paper flowers that I made for my daughter's room and today I'm sharing the finished garland.  As many of my projects do, this project just evolved as I went.  I often raid my craft closet for supplies and end up making a mess all over my dining room table and this project was no different.

I started out by cutting a scrap piece of mail into a triangle template, which I used to cut five burlap triangles.  I also cut out five smaller triangles out of scrapbook paper.
I stenciled the letters of my daughter's name on the scrapbook paper then glued them to the burlap.
I folded the burlap over the twine using hot glue.
A little pom pom fringe completed the flags.

I really like the garland, but I'm not completely feeling the burlap in her room.  I may end up doing different "flags"  once I get the rest of her room together.

  1. Katie, this is really cute! I love the color choices! I like the burlap but I can understand that it may not go in all rooms. I love what you are doing in this room!

    1. Thanks Emily! It's starting to come together, but I still have a few larger projects that I need to get done.
