Twisted Felt Pillow...

While my sewing machine was still out on the dining room table I decided to make the felt pillow that I pinned on pinterest recently.  I loosely followed the instructions and thankfully the pillow turned out.  If you decide to make this pillow, make sure you cut your strips longer than your front and back fabric.  I didn't do that and I kept having to stretch the felt as I went to make it long enough.

Working with two strips at a time, I twisted one over the other, pinned and sewed a straight line over each "X"

I continued twisting, pinning and sewing lines until I got to the end.  I just eye balled my lines and tried to keep them evenly spaced.  If you're uncomfortable with eye balling you can draw your lines to keep everything even and straight.

Once my front fabric piece was all sewn, I put right sides together with the back piece and sewed around the edges leaving a small opening to insert my pillow form.   Then I blind stitched (also known as ladder stitch) the opening.

After I was done with the felt pillow I worked on a color block pillow and gold dot pillow that I'll share in the next few days.  I promise, I have been working on other projects and am done making pillows for awhile.
