A few Valentines...

My kids are both at an age where they like to give Valentine's to their classmates.  This year, my daughter is in kindergarten and is not allowed to give Valentine's with food or candy.  So, I had to get creative.  Getting creative meant browsing Pinterest and other blogs to look for printables!  That's when I found the cutest valentine printables at The Handmade Home.

The kids had fun (despite their serious faces) peeling the crayons and adding just the right colors to each heart mold.  The mold's I used are actually ice cube tray's that I found at Michaels and I believe were $1.99 a piece.  I was worried about putting them in the oven, but they held up just fine.

Bake for about 20 mins (or until melted) in a preheated 250 degree oven.

Let cool before you remove the crayons

I put two heart crayons in each bag along with a valentine book to color.

My son is in preschool and is able to bring candy, so I used the "You totally rock" printable for his friends at school.  Sorry preschool mother's for getting your kids hyped up on sugar.

You can find both "Color me Rad" and "You totally Rock" printables here at Handmade Home.

Have a wonderful weekend!  I'm headed out to Ikea on saturday with my long shopping list.

  1. Have fun at Ikea!! I could spend hours and hours there...I am like a kid in a candy store with all the inspiration and stuff to look at!
I need to think up some Valentines for our oldest...I love the idea of the crayons but don't have any molds so will have to put my thinking cap on.

    1. Thanks! I will probably be in there for hours! I'm hoping to get the ALGOT system to finally organize my craft closet in the office.

  2. You made some adorably sweet Valentines! I love the little treat bags too. Would love for you to share at Fridays Unfolded!

    1. Thanks Allison! I appreciate the invite and will certainly check it out!
