Organized "Office" Corner...

I have been really motivated lately to get my "office" corner cleaned up and organized.  The other week I worked on the drawers and got them organized and then it was time to do something about the shelves.  The little corner that I call my office is where I do most of my blogging, so I wanted it to be comfortable, bright (as bright as it can be for a basement room with no windows) and organized.  I had put up two IKEA shelves a few months back, but didn't really organize them.  I kind of just threw a few things on them and called it a day.  Now I love how bright and organized they are!

The Jars on the shelf were a find from Goodwill.  I got all three for $9.00!  They had chrome lids, so I just spray painted them with an oil rubbed bronze spray paint.  I added scrapbook paper to label each canister and washi tape to dress up the lid.

They hold my paint, washi and other decorative tape and push pins and upholstery nails.

The can that holds my sponge brushes is a recycled soup can that I wrapped and labeled with scrapbook paper.  The little foam brushes come in handy for so many projects.  I usually stock up when they are on sale at the local craft store.

The file boxes on top the shelf were bought at IKEA.  They were plain white until I covered them in scrapbook paper.  They hold my yearly tax papers and magazines.

I saw this book at HomeGoods and LOVED it!  I jot down blog ideas, to do lists and anything else that I need to remember.  I usually take it with me everywhere.  I am a list person and write lists for EVERYTHING.  I would be lost without this little book.
An old coaster was given new life with some scrap book paper.  I added 2 coats of clear polyurethane to make it water proof.

The rod and storage bins were picked up about 3 years ago at IKEA. I never found a good place for them until now. I'm pretty sure they still have the rod and buckets, but I don't think they come in black anymore.    The rod was silver before I spray painted it a fun green color. They hold my pens, scissors and punches.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this space turned out.  It's so nice to sit at my desk and have everything organized!
