A Spoon Full of Medicine...

I really wanted to share the trash truck costume for Owen, but my camera had other plans.  I don't know if you remember, but I was having major camera issues.   I would take pictures but not all of them would download to the computer.  I could deal with losing the pictures of the trash truck and other projects, but I got really annoyed when I lost all the pumpkin patch pictures from Owen's field trip.  I have a very nice Nikon camera so I didn't think it was the camera.  The only other thing I could think of was the memory card.  I went out to buy another card ($40.00, what?) and luckily it resolved all the problems.  I'll take some pictures of the completed costume and hopefully post them later this week.

Now that that's out of the way...

This past weekend I was on my own with the kids.  Unfortunately, for them it meant they were getting dragged to Hobby Lobby with me.  I did make it worth their while though and took them to Chick-Fil-A and the mall to play in the indoor playground.  If I drag them somewhere for me I at least try and do something fun for them.  It's only fair.

My plan was to go to Hobby Lobby to look for fabric to make pillows for my bed, but that didn't happen.  I did find other fabric to use for other projects in the house, so I guess the trip wasn't a total bust.  I also found these really cute black and white chevron porcelain cups that I couldn't resist getting.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but I picked up four anyway.

When I got home and was putting stuff away it hit me that I could use them to organize the stuff in the medicine cabinet.  I have been sick for the past week and when I went into the medicine cabinet looking for something to take I was really frustrated at how messy everything was getting. Not only was it a total mess, but a lot of medicine was expired.  Every time I opened the cabinet I was afraid things would fall out and I could never find anything I needed.

Yes, I have a three year old and yes that is butt paste.

I took everything out and was amazed that at least half of the medicine was old and expired.  I threw a bunch of stuff out and put all the gauze and tape in the first aid box under the sink.

That left me with everything else.

 Thermometer and Creams

 Scissors and Clippers

 Kid band aids

Adult band aids

All the smaller items are organized on the top shelf

And all the medicine is on the lower shelf

The chevron cups were 50% off so they ended up being $1.50 a piece.  So, for a few dollars I have a neat and organized medicine cabinet.  Hopefully, I will no longer be irritated when looking for a particular medicine.
