The Master Plan...

I have been wanting to redecorate our master bedroom for a long time now.  It was painted a very dark brown (Sherwin Williams Griffin...I think) for about 5 years.  I loved the brown, but found it difficult to decorate.  In my opinion, it is much easier to have lighter walls and bring in color through bedding an accessories.

The whole makeover started when I found a rug that I fell in love with at Rugs USA.  They were having a huge Memorial Day sale and I believe it was 70% off.  I knew I wanted it for our bedroom and planned my entire room design around this rug.  It was late when I found the rug online, so I placed it in my "cart" and went to bed.  I thought I should at least sleep on it and make sure it was exactly what I wanted before ordering.  I got up the next morning and was all ready to place the order and......It was out of stock!!! What???  In less than 9 hours it sold out.  I added my name to be notified via e-mail when the rug was back in stock.  I checked everyday to see if I got an e-mail.  Weeks, months went by and no e-mail.  On a whim I went to their site during their recent Labor Day sale to see if it was back in stock.  To my surprise, there it was and 80% off!!!  (Thanks for the e-mail notification Rugs USA!)  Anyone that knows me, knows that I am VERY impatient.  When I want something, I want it now.  When I want something done, it has to be done right then.  So, waiting 3 months was kind of like torture.  But, if it means saving a few bucks to wait 3 months then I'm all about it.

 Master Bedroom Design Plan

Rug:  Radiante Nuo Chevron Ikat rug.

Lamp shade: Threshold Flocked Lamp Shade from Target on a cream ceramic lamp base that I already own.

Threshold™ Flocked Lamp Shade - Large

Curtain fabric: Waverly Pom Pom Play Spa fabric from Joann Fabrics

Euro sham fabric: Waverly Strands/Sterling from  Joann Fabrics

I'm thinking of using Premier prints stripes slub coastal grey from Fabric.com for the bed skirt, but I'm not 100% sure.

Wall color:  Sherwin Williams Worldly gray

I'll be using my white down comforter and adding mustard colored pillows and possibly a throw blanket to tie in the colors.  I stop in HomeGoods almost weekly checking out their pillow selection.  So far, no luck!

I'm hoping to have everything wrapped up within the next few weeks.  As soon as everything is done, I'll show the finished room!
